It was a big, long day of top competition for Georgia high school track and field as 40 schools came together at McEachern's track facility in a top-notch tune-up a week before region championships begin. A grand total of 73 MileSplit National Elite performances were recorded and three of the top Milers in Georgia tested the mondo at the site of the 2021 7A-2A-A Private state championships venue. This was the hottest ticket of the season for a Georgia HS track meet as the venue reached its 30% capacity early (Cobb County COVID-19 restrictions) and reports were some fans actually began attempting to scale the fences in an attempt to get inside.

The event of the day was definitely Heat 5 of the boy's 1600-meter race as Sully Shelton of Harrison (4:07.42), Kamari Miller of Marietta (4:14.06), and Zack Truitt of Landmark Christian (4:13.98) quickly separated from the chase pack as Shelton led for the first 3 laps. Truitt and Miller then made their moves and dueled the final lap as Zack sprinted hard the final 100 meters clocking a new US # 2 time of 4:06.69.  Video
