What a great meet held Saturday at the 8th Annual Marietta Distance Carnival. Some great early season performances were achieved, especially it being just mid-February. Eleven athletes achieved MileSplit Elite performances in the 3200, 1600, and 800-meter races. Video of all races was uploaded overnight Saturday here and a large photo gallery posted earlier today. Meet Director, Marietta head track coach Nick Houstoulakis commented after the meet, "We kicked off the season today with a great field of talented teams! It was fun to watch track athletes compete again after last season was cut short almost one year ago. The races today were competitive and exciting to watch. The Steeplechase is always a fan favorite and the event didn't disappoint as the competitors put in a show. Many meet records were set today including the 4x800 set by the Gainesville boys and 3200m set by Andrew Jones of North Hall. Overall we are just excited to have the opportunity to get back to the sport we all love! This meet today was a fun way to kick start the season.
