The top high school girls pole vaulter in Georgia verbally committed to continue her academic and athletic career at the University of Georgia. Phillips was on track to challenge the 14-foot barrier last spring until COVID-19 struck the country. Payton has a personal best bar of 13-7 achieved in April 2019. She also is the two-time defending GHSA state champ for 5A in 2018/2019. Phillips, now a senior, is currently ranked #3 All-time in Georgia as well.
