Tia Jones at 2016 Georgia Meet of Champions 13.03....!

Tia Jones set the Track and Field world on fire when as a freshman she put the hammer down (watch the video) and clocked a 13.03 at the 2016 Georgia Meet of Champions. She had a great prep career winning 3 consecutive state titles in the 100m hurdles. Her accomplishments are far too many to attempt to list here. She was the 2018 IAAFu20 (under 20) World Champion, and 3rd in 2016. 2018 USATF Junior National Outdoor Champ, and runnerup in 2016/2017.  Her pr was achieved in 2016 in the prelims at USATF Junior Nationals at 12.84.. Having reached the pinnacle of her prep career as a junior with nothing left to prove, Jones chose in January 2019 to forego her commitment to the University of Oregon making the decision to turn pro immediately her senior year.

Senior Jasmine Jones of Greater Atlanta Christian had a stellar prep career, and it would have been interesting to see how low she could have went this season, but COVID-19 derailed those plans. Jones won 7 state individual titles, including 3 consecutive state titles in the 100 hurdles (2017-2019) and 2 team titles in 2017 and 2019. She is the reigning 2019 USATF under 20 Champion in the 100 hurdles (13.19 pr) and PanAm under 20 games Champion, 2019 New Balance Outdoor Nationals Champion and was runnerup in the 2019 New Balance Indoor Nationals in the 55 and 60m hurdles. She will be continuing her career choosing to compete for the Trojans at USC (California) this Fall.
