Collins and Cadeau Take 3200 Wins @ Atlanta Relays


The Inaugural Atlanta Relays (formerly the Coaches Invitational) was the first large showcase meet of the Outdoor season. Held 2 weeks earlier compared to mid March it was chilly after sunset, but the track got warmed up with multiple prelims heats of the 100m dash, 100/110h, 4x100m relays and 2 non-showcase 3200m heats. 24 MileSplit 2nd team Elite performances were achieved with 11 of them occurring in the 'fast' heats of the 3200m race.

Andrew Jones (L) sticks with Myles Collins

Myles Collins of Archer has been on an early season tear and he continued that trend by gliding to 3200m champions race posting a tremendous early season 8:57! Collins took the lead early and never looked back enroute to the win. Andrew Jones of North Hall hung tough taking runnerup honors in 9:15 followed by Sam Rich from Lakeside Evans 3rd at 9:19

Madelynne Cadeau of South Forsyth had a strong Indoor performances at the Music City Invitational clocking a 10:59 in the 2 Mile run. She got a leg up on the field Friday night taking the lead during lap 1 and began to slowly pull away on the last 4 laps crossing the finish line in 10:46. Mackenzie Walls from Veterans HS was 2nd place going sub 11: clocking a 10:57 and Emily Little of Marist finished 3rd in 11:06
