Varsity Boys 2 Mile:
Chris Cherono rolls, understaffed Harrison still prevails. A mere 2 points separated the top 3 varsity boys teams (Harrison 70, Brookwood 71, Parkview 72) at the Hoya 2 Mile Invitational in Acworth. Harrison showcased their incredibly improved team with a victory despite being down 2 scorers, one of whom is among the best in Georgia in Sully Shelton. Harrison was still able to put 3 in the top 7 in what was a pretty top heavy field. After 4th place Mill Creek (80), there was a 47 point drop to Marietta (127) and then over 50 points to Carrollton (181) and so on. Chris Cherono of Grayson was able to use a strong kick to dispatch Collin Jones (Carrollton) Kaden McVey (Harrison), and Tristan Autry (Parkview). Middle school phenom Jared Fortenberry of Marietta is now set to terrorize the high school ranks and opened his career with a 6th place showing. The duo of Luke McNeil and Will Bray went 8-9 to help Brookwood wrap up 2nd place. An improved Parkview squad put 4 in the top 20 to fall just short of equaling the Broncos while Mill Creek showcased a formidable top 3 to snag 4th.
Girls: All Hoyas All the Time

It was a dominant performance for the Lady Hoyas, as they put 5 in the top 17 to dismantle the competition including individual winner Riley Perlakowski who pulled away early in the second half to gas the field. She was aided by Anna Windom (4th), Eliza Hackworth (6th), Allison Baker (14th), and Kylie Sobol (17th). Parkview's girls, an afterthought over the past couple of seasons, came out the gates strong with a 2nd place showing they had a good summer. They were led by the duo of Emma Geaney (9th) and Claire Mills (10th). Marietta appeared shorthanded, but still took a strong 3rd overall and put 2 in the top 8 including June Mwaniki (2nd) and Finlay Mann (8th). The Lady Hawks of Mill Creek took 4th place and were led by Edith Kahiga (12th) and Andrea Montes (13th). The scores for the top 4, similar to the guys, were close with 2nd and 4th being separated by a mere 19 points.
