MileSplit GA Now Captures Club Performances for Youths

I have given this serious thought over the past year, and decided we are going to capture Club performances for age groups of 9-10 and 11-12 years old for Track & Field and XC. We began this process with the Mark Trail Memorial Day meet. There are a few guidelines that must be followed to make this a positive experience. On the whole, its been more successful than I had planned on thus far.

Here are the guidelines:

1- Athletes names need to spelled the same way for every meet. If one character is off, the database may not find a match. Make sure club coaches and parents that there names are spelled correctly.

2- We must have your Club's team in the database, this is crucial for age groups of 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14. If it is not on the Team Pages menu If one finds that your Club is not listed, please e-mail me at runninggodz@yahoo.com with the following data:

A- Team name as you enter it into Club meets whether AAU or USATF.

B- An address, city, state, zip, county

C- Contact Phone number

*without this data we cannot create your Club

3- Unattached Athletes- This can be very tricky matching to an existing Profile, especially with common names like Mike Smith, etc. I don't know who everyone is, and in this cases the athlete will be linked to 'Unattached Club, GA'

4- Most important, is the results from a meet must be on MileSplit in the correct format (flat html) Our GA timers are pretty good at posting results when they are ready for posting after checking for anomolies. I will not go onto a Timer's website and hijack their results (especially LIVE Results) I feel confident if you contact the MD/Timer they will be happy to submit the results to me for posting or self-post them.

My father was one of the pioneers in Rec Track in Georgia, and it made a great difference in Cairo winning 12 State titles from 1957-1975. So, I am honoring him also by recognizing the younger athletes.
