In the 5A Girls 1600m Kayla Rose of McIntosh pulled a slight upset seizing the Gold clocking a 5:02.26, Emoni Coleman of Miller Grove took runnerup honors at 5:08.12, McKenna Trapheagen of Woodland HS was 3rd place at 5:08.98 and Mackenzie Walls from Veterans HS 4th in 5:12
Zach Jaeger of McIntosh got some payback winning the Gold medal in the 5A Boys 1600m posting a 4:17.90, Starr's Mill scored 15 team points behind Nick Nyman's 2nd place finish at 4:19.44 and Harrison Fultz claimed 4th at 4:24 Domonic Macias of Union Grove raced to Bronze in 4:21.95
A non Metro ATL runner raced to 1st place in the 6A girls 1600m as Kayla Gholar from Richmond Hill clocked the winning time of 5:06.45, Riley Perlakowski of Harrison raced to 2nd at 5:10.14, Ashley Sechrest of Cambridge was 3rd in 5:11.27 and Makena Gates from Creekview 4th place at 5:16
Sully Shelton from Harrison won a hard fought victory in the 6A boys 1600 as 4 athletes were in contention for the title. Shelton held them off crossing the finish line at 4:16.49, Jack Filan of Cambridge held on for 2nd place at 4:18.42 just nipping out KC Heron of Pope a step back in 4:18.77, Jalen Murray of Richmond Hill claimed 4th palce in 4:22.86
