One of the country's best shot putters made a huge breakthrough recently, and in doing so he was rewarded with National Performer of the Week honors.

St. Pius X's Tanner Duffin became the first thrower in 2019 to go over 70-feet in the shot put, hitting 70-2.25 at the Southern Challenge #2 Meet, which led to a resounding win in the national poll in the week ending April 28th.

Duffin claimed 570 votes and a dominating 73-percent of the vote to win his first recognition. So a big kudos goes out to Duffin on the honor.

Let's move on to this week's vote, which will cover the week of April 29-May 5.

Below, we have eight more boys nominees for this week's top honor. Vote in the poll below and let us know your thoughts in the comments.
