Wet & Cold Saturday at MS State Championships

The Girls Club team competition was dominated by Jackrabbit Track as they rang up 131 points with ATL Zoom Athletics taking 2nd and Lightning Spikes 3rd. They won every Club Relay event, Nia Wilson won the 100m dash, Sydney Harris took the 400m crown and Christianne Akintayo won the Shot Put. Shiloh MS took the School team title with 68 points with Greater Atlanta Christian runnerup and Chamblee MS 3rd. 

Jackrabbit's Girls got off to a fast start Saturday with the fastest time in the 4x100 at 48.39

Jasmine Harmon had quite a day winning 3 individual events for ATL Zoom

Jackrabbit's 4x400 squad blew away the field almost going sub 4 at 4:01.48


Faith MS won the 4x800 relay with a time of 10:30.13

Boys

Oglethorpe County continued to enjoy success as their Boys team emerged victorious in the School division led by Will Sampson's 2 wins in the 200m at 23.83, Gold in the LJ with a mark of 19-4.50 and 2nd place finish in the 100m dash. The Patriots picked up 27 points in the distance events including a pair of 3rd's by Will Bray. Luke McGarity placed 2nd in the 3200, 5th in the 1600m and 6th in the 800m run and Michael Fleming struck Gold in the 100 hurdles clocking a 14.77 and took 2nd in the HJ and Edrick Faust won the TJ with a mark of 38-10 as the Pats' rolled up 94 points, winning by 41 points over TJ Elder MS of Washington County with Marietta MS 2 points back in 3rd place. 

ATL Zoom Athletics triumphed on the Club side scoring 88 points, with Jackrabbit Track earning runnerup and Cobb PAL 3rd. 

Tucker MS had the fastest time of the day in the 4x100 relay at 45.22

It was a tight 5 runner lead pack in the boys 1600 with Jared Fortenberry (656) taking the win a close race just edging William Carlton of Decatur (1023) clocking a 4:40.23

Devin Clark of Cobb PAL had the fastest time of the meet in the 400m dash at 52.07


Ayden Duncanson of Whitefield had the top time in the Boys 100m dash at 11.53 winning his first of a pair of Golds

William Carlton (3) of Decatur came back strong in the 800m run after a tough 1600 race and took the Gold at 2:07.58

Jude Holiday (unattached) took the victory in the Boys 100 hurdles at 14.45

Ayden Duncanson of Whitefield races to another Gold medal this time in the 200m dash going 23.56
