Oviedo Boys Run National Leading 4x800m at Florida Relays

Schools records fell on Saturday at the Florida Relays.

Oviedo raced their way to a national leading 4x800m relay time of 7:46.56 -- just missing the 7:43.1 meet record set by Brandon in 1973.

There was a large group of guys going into the first lap with Bolles leading the way in a 57 first lap with Oviedo right behind.

Heading into the first exchange Oviedo made their way into the lead putting themselves in great position in the second exchange in a smooth time of 3:55.

Oviedo pushed the pace and remained in the lead with the first and third legs both coming off their basketball seasons only a few weeks ago and their anchor leg, Angel Vicioso, on tired legs from Friday's Invite 1600m.

The Lions won the 4x800m race in a new school record of 7:46.56 with Bolles also running a new school record of 7:52.99 for second place. Flagler Palm Coast ran a season best of 7:58.18 to finish third.
