Day 1 Highlights from the Torrid DeKalb County Championships

Day 1 of the DeKalb County Championships provided some fast racing as 24 MileSplit 2nd team performances were achieved, though many athletes held something back for Finals coming up Monday (if weather permits) In the Girls team standings, Dunwoody currently leads with 49 points, but look for speedy Miller Grove, Arabia Mountain and MLK to come on strong beginning with the 4x100m relay. MLK has a big lead on the Boys side with 51 points, but Miller Grove (with Zero points) has the talent to pile up some big points along with SW DeKalb.

Sr Carter Rathur from Druid Hills won the 3200m race going 9:51. 

Chuck Shawn Collins of Miller Grove wins heat 4 of the 400m clocking a 48.80

Darryl Burton III of Miller Grove had the top Q' time in the 300h at 38.82

Emoni Coleman of meet host Miller Grove begans to pull away from the field in the 1600m winning at 5:20

Janae Profit of Dunwoody HS watches the flight of her throw as she won the Discus with a mark of 137-8.25

Tommy Wright of SW DeKalb flies thru the air winning the Long Jump with a mark of 23-1.25


Jhivon Wilson of MLK powered to the fastest Q' time in the 200m dash posting a 21.29

Jonovan Lowe of Tucker Q'd for the 400m finals going 48.92

Jordan Barrow (L) of Arabia Mountain Q'd 2nd in the 200m dash at 21.96

Its a perfect 'V' formation in heat 5 of the Girls 100m as Kayla Hunt of MLK Q'd 1st in 11.97

Miller Grove Girls make a perfect pass winning heat 3 of the 4x100 going 47.08

SW DeKalb ran away with heat 4 in the 4x100, Q' 1st for Finals with a time of 42.12

Kayla Hunt of MLK anchors her squad to the #2 Q' time in the 4x100m relay posting a 48.16



Frosh Rasunek Tyler-Thompson of Miller Grove has perfect form Q' 1st in the 100m hurdles clocking a 14.86
