A Public Boys Start

Leo Lopez

Greene County HS is not the best area to draw potential XC runners from. Roundball and Football ruled, XC program sketchy.. Something changed, as the Tigers squad began to grow.. Then, Leo Lopez came out for the team in 2017. He had a great first season of XC, culminating in placing 3rd at State. Lopez started slowly in 2018,  but at Area 4 placed 2nd (17:38) As if something from 'McFarland USA' Lopez destroyed the A Pub boys field with a solid time of 17:20 at Carrollton!

Colin McCabe

Georgia Military 3-peated as team Champs on Saturday, but it wasn't as easy as the previous 2 years having graduated 2 key All-State runners. The key to victory for the Dawgs' was actually a sweet 1-5 split of 1:08. Colin McCabe was 3rd overall in 18:39 and Logan Steinmeyer placed 9th.

Brandon Martin

Commerce put up a fight for the team title, falling short by just 8 points. The Tigers were led by Brandon Martin's overall runnerup finish at 18:03. Their 2-5 runners have to be commended, as they turned in a split of just :22 !

Schley County also put on a quite an impressive display of pack running for an A Public squad, with a :28 1-5 split besting top heavy Gordon Lee by 5 points. Frosh Dustin Howard led the pack placing 16th.

Grant Cook, Jake Lee and Ian Godwin

Gordon Lee secured the final team Podium spot with 109 points. Jake Lee was 5th overall at 18:43 with Ian Goodwin a couple of strides back in 18:47. Jasper Wilson placed 10th earning an All-State nod. Lake Oconee Academy had 2 runners in the top 10, including: Jack Miller 8th (19:06) and Ty Wood 9th (19:09)
