Runners Fit Mountain Invitational Preview

60 schools.  2100 runners.  Thursday's Runners Fit Mountain Invitational hosted by White County High School is the largest of all time as we again had to cap the race off.  Coach Borg has stayed on board as meet director and the competition looks as good as ever.  The racing will be fierce!

HS Boys - In a field with several state ranked schools, top team trophy contenders seem to be North Oconee, North Hall, Pace Academy, Oconee, Gainesville, White County, Dawson, and Jefferson.  Individually, can North Hall's Devan Crow (15:25 at McAlpine) take down the course record of 15:31 set in 2014?  18 guys have already gone under 17:00 this season, including 2 more guys under 16:00 Wesley John (Oconee, 15:44) and Alex Thomas (North Oconee, 15:59).  Don't count out a dozen guys that are looking to get under 16:00 for the first time this season.

HS Girls - On the girls side, Oconee's girls appear to be the class of the meet, followed by several very evenly matched squads that could take the final 2 trophies.  Pace Academy, North Hall, North Oconee, White County, Clarke Central, North Forsyth, and Dawson are all trophy hunting.  Individually, Oconee's Caroline McArthur could be alone with the golf cart as she's the only girl that has gone 18th this season (18:51), but expect some challenge from Frankie Muldoon (Dawson).

Trophies and medals will be hard earned as just 15 individuals medal and only 3 teams trophy.  We also medal 5 JV runners.  There are 461 Middle School boys and 387 Middle School boys entered to run.

Course records:

Boys - Quintin Miles, North Hall (2014 8AAAA) - 15:31

Girls - Savannah Carnahan, South Forsyth (2014 Mtn Invite) - 17:40
