This Saturday marks the 10th annual Battle of Atlanta at Nash Farm Battlefield in Henry County. What started as a small 12 school field a decade ago, has expanded into 70+ schools and one of the largest cross-country meets in the state.  The rolling, spectator friendly course is set to see some of the best runners from three states compete for team and individual hardware.  MileSplit GA will be onsite shooting images/photo gallery; and some video for the first time..

While SAT weekend always plays a spoiler with pre-race favorites, some of the top teams scheduled to compete for the Girls include Marietta, Pope, Landmark, and Union Grove among others.  Vying for the individual crown include Jones County's dynamic duo of Erin Leonard and Laney Doster, Marietta's June Mwaniki, Presley Miles (St. James), returning champion Erin Fegans (Landmark), Haley Rose (Decatur), and Mackenzie Walls (Veterans) with a deep pack of talented runners on their heels.

The Boys' side looks to be a close team battle between the solid pack running of Pope, Hebron Christian, Marietta, and Mandarin (FL).   Individually, it looks to be a battle of Week 1 ROW's for first place. Justin Wachtel (Mary Persons), Domonic Macias (Union Grove), and Zack Truitt (Landmark Christian) all come into the meet having won their opening races of the season.  Following close behind should be a talented pack consisting of Antaures Jackson (Eagles Landing), Ben Gordon and Kamari Miller (Marietta), Axel Mateo (Pope) among others.

The Nash Farms course is a 2.5 loop 95% grass course. Most consider the course moderate in difficulty and it is the most spectator friendly course in Georgia. Spectators are able to see over 90% of each race.  The Nash course has been home to numerous major high school XC meets, several NCAA D1 meets and conference championships and the 2013 D3 Regional Meet. It is 30 minutes south of Atlanta just off of I-75.
