The girls field in this region is second to none state-wide. The depth is astounding considering that the top 13 individual girls in the AAAAA rankings are in this region. In 2003, 19:23 won the individual title but will struggle to place in the top 12 this year. There are at least 10 girls who could break 19 on River Green this Saturday. Amanda Winslow is the defending champion and holds the course record. She is also ranked #15 nationally and has had a consistently impressive season thus far. Behind her are several individuals who could win most other regions in the state and will be strong medal contenders in AAAAA. Three of the top 6 teams in the state contend for region honors but there will be a wide-open battle for the last qualifying spot between Mill Creek, Northview, and Chattahoochee.

Boys Individual Favorite: Niall Longobardi, Peachtree Ridge
Other Top Individuals: Robert Fenesterer, Peachtree Ridge; Carlos Galindo, Collins Hill; Dylan Walker, South Forsyth; Gator Jackson, South Forsyth

Team Favorites: Collins Hill, Peachtree Ridge
Other Strong Teams: Mill Creek, Northview, South Forsyth, North Gwinnett, Chattahoochee

One of the top boys regions in the state especially in the team competition. The battle for the Championship and state qualification should be intense on all fronts. Collins Hill looks to have the depth but Peachtree Ridge and South Forsyth have the front runners. North Gwinnett has been coming on strong the last few weeks.
