Newton Takes 6A Boys Crown in Final Event

The 6A Boys Finals were a roller coaster ride for many teams as it came down to the 4x400 to decide the Champ with Newton taking 2nd place clinching the team title over South Gwinnett by 3 points, with Lakeside deKalb and Campbell tying for 3rd 2 points back of South. The Rams began the day on a scary note w/ a DNF in the 4x100. But Elija Godwin came back strong winning the 400m at 47.40 and placing 4th in the 200m. Alex Sands took a pair of 5ths in the 100/200m, and their 4x400 squad clinched the title with a Silver at 3:17.85.
