Chase Kennedy of East Jackson Charges to 3A 3200 Win


AAA- Chase Kennedy was going to have no one challenge him in the 3200m,after a tough 1600m on Thursday where he settled for the Silver medal. Kennedy assumed the lead before the end of lap 1 splitting a 1:09. Once again, the fast pace shook the field as it breaking up soon after the beginning of lap 2. 5 runners formed a lead group on lap 3 including Kennedy, Chandler Kennedy, Nichael Hans of Oconee, Ben McCoy of Blessd Trinity and Jefferson's Addison Cochran. But Chase had something else on his mind, liking running a very low time, as he jacked up the pace, nearly disapearing from the chase pack splitting 4:37 at the 1600 mark. The group was now broken up and it was every man for himself the final 3 laps. Chase was on a mission the final 2 laps, as he continued to pull away, splitting a 1:09 the gun lap clocking a 9:17.09. Bro Chandler stayed the course winning the Silver at 9:35.76, with Ben McCoy of Blessed Trinity taking Bronze at 9:38.94.
