Day 2 of Serena Tripodi's 'Most Excellent Adventure' to NXN Nationals

After having such an incredible experience yesterday, I didn't think it could get any better, but it did. We woke up at around 7:45am, ate breakfast, and then headed over to the race venue at Glendoveer Golf Course. The athlete village was spectacular, with each team or individual having there own lockers and changing areas. Also, there was a Spike Up station, Fuel Up station, and Warm Up station, consisting of all your running needs.

The Southeast girls and I then did a run through of the course, and got a feel of the muddy terrain we would be dealing with tomorrow. We ended with some dynamic stretching and strides to open up our legs. We ate our packed lunch on the long bus ride back to the hotel for some down time. After relaxing for a bit, we loaded onto the buses to go back to the Nike Headquarters. We explored some of the campus, and even saw the famous track in the woods.

We sprinted back to the Tiger Woods Center, because we heard that Mo Farah was there! Once we arrived, there were several athletes in the lounge that we took pictures with, such as Mo, Galen Rupp, Evan Jager and Andrew Wheating. Then, we attended a Q&A with them, in addition to Matthew Centrowitz, Emily Infeld, and Colleen Quigley. It was amazing getting to see and talk to all of the professional runners that we look up to!

Next, we went to dinner in the Mia Hamm Building, and stuffed our faces with bread and pasta. After dinner, we got back on the bus and returned to the hotel at around 7pm. We prepared all our gear for tomorrow, putting on our chips and bibs. I then go relax in my room, watch my favorite movie Miracle on Ice, and get ready for bed. Time to sign off, tomorrow's going to be a big day!
