Mercy Sprints and Hurdles to 1A Private Girls Title

Mercy began the day with alot of firepower waiting in the wings to add to their 20 points picked up on the Field. The Bobcats hit quick taking the 4x100 Relay in 48.14. Leah Banks took Gold in the 400m in 56.89, later taking 3rd in the 100 Hurdles, Dejah Barthell won the 100m dash (12.34), Landy Thomas sprinted to 14 points as she was 2nd in the 200m (25.52) 100m (12.68) Alion Belvon took Silver in the 300h (46.37) Also adding to the Bobcat's team win were Courtney Johnson 5th in the 400m, Pauline Cobb 6th 800m, Janelle Morris 4th/8th in the Hurdles. OLM closed the meet getting 2nd in the 4x400 at 4:09.14

Eagles Landing Christian was a strong 2nd in team standings scoring 70 points topping off their campaign by winning the 4x400 Relay in 4:04. T' Aja Cameron set a new Class record in the 200 meter dash clocking a 24.41, team mate Sydney Spencer scored in the sprints taking 2nd in the 100m (12.36) and 3rd in the 200m (25.59) ELCA raced to 2nd in the 4x100 behind Mercy in 48.48.

Athens Academy had their best state outing in quite a while taking 3rd overall. The Spartans (with limited scoring opps Saturday) went into Finals with 37.5 points with a 3 point leasd over Landmark Christian. Anna Marion Block had set a new Class record Friday in the 1600 (4:51) Julia Hairsay threw for 13 points. ACAD got off to a good start placing 3rd in the 4x100 (50.53) Emily Ballard Meyer picked up 7th in the 400m.

Then Block took to the Track in the 800m and ran to yet another new A Class record posting a 2:13 in the most brutal heat she has been race-tested in. The Spartans had a miscue in the final event with a DQ (running off the Track)

Landmark Christian had 5 chances to score Saturday and captured the final Team Podium spot in 4th. They had to wait until the 100 Hurdles as Jordan Boyd was 5th. Then the Foreman sisters scored 11 points in the 800m as Kathryn finished 3rd in 2:20 and frosh Sarah 4th (2:22) Rachel Morley added a 5th in the 300h. Landmark's 4x400 team may have survived some kind of ruling in the 4x400 placing 5th in 4:14

Walker was 5th overall led by hurdler Collier Middleon as she won the 100 Hurdles in 14.75 and then took 3rd in the 300h (46.71) Sydney Force from Strong Rock Christian won the 300 Hurdles clocking a 45.67. Mt. Pisgah Christian was 6th Overall followed by Athens Christian.

Carson Dingler of First Presbyterian Day easily won the 1A Private Pole Vault with a clearance of 12-0 winning Top PV Performance for the Meet.
