STATESBORO, Ga. - Jillian Sloane and Megan Prangley will join the Georgia Southern Cross Country/Track and Field team next season after signing National Letters of Intent (NLI) as announced by Head Coach
Kelly Carter.
"We are very excited about the group that has signed early with us," Carter said. "They are excellent students and are going to fit right along with our mantra of Rings and Diplomas. We are happy that they are going to be a part of Eagle Nation."
Sloane hails from Ellenwood, Ga. where she competes in the 400m and 800m at Woodland High School. She qualified and medaled at the state meet each season and was a state runner-up in the 800m in 2014 and finished third in 2013.
Sloane also was a state medalist in the 4x400m relay three-straight seasons. She holds the Woodland High School 800m, 4x400m relay and 4x800 relay records. Sloane is a member of the National Beta Club and is a dual enrollment student taking classes at Clayton State University.

Prangley joins the Eagles from Creekside High School in St. John's, Fla., where she was a member of the Class 3A State Championship 5k team. Prangley ran a personal best 19:05 at the Regional Meet in November at the Sunnyhill Farms course in Tallahassee, Fla. and posted her second best time of the season in the State Championship Meet (19:32). Prangley is the recipient of the AP Scholars Award with Distinction.
"Megan is coming from Florida, and we have been monitoring her progress over the last several months," Carter said.
