Former GISA Schools Make the Jump to GHSA Competition

Former GISA Schools Make the Jump to GHSA Competition

Kaleb McLeod was the toast of GISA Cross Country in 2013, will Trinity Christian test GHSA competition this Fall?

Ga.Milesplit discovered the moves during the process of adjusting every change made in classes and regions. In total, 6 schools are taking the plunge including Pataula Charter, Christian Heritage, Lake Oconee Academy, Mount de Sales Academy, Stratford Academy  and Tattnall Square Academy. Significant for Cross Country is Mount De Sales out of Macon who has experienced success in GISA including the Girls squad winning the AAA title last Fall and the Boys winning AAA in 2009 thru 2012. Cavaliers Coach Jeff Dobias from Mount De Sales commented, ""I am thankful for all of the opportunities the GISA has offered our teams over the years, and I will miss the friendships with other coaches I have known for a while.  However, I am also looking forward to the new challenges our teams will face as we enter the GHSA and compete against a new set of schools."

Stratford and Tattnall Square could also energize Region 7 1A Private giving FPD some competition. It will be interesting as the GHSA is allowing competition in XC and Track with GISA member schools beginning with the new term. Hopefully we can get to see Kaleb McLeod in big races against top GHSA competition this Fall as he proved his talent at Foot Locker South in 2013 as the #1 male finisher from Georgia.
