              Mt. Zion Jonesboro Scores in Every Finals Event Becoming 5A Champs

Mt. Zion Jonesboro scored in every single event Saturday adding a 2nd here, a 3rd there..etc.. and capped it off by finally getting a Gold in the 4x400m relay clocking a 3:16.82 totalling 58 points giving the Bulldogs a much deserved 5A title. 

Creekside sped around the oval taking the 4x100m title in 41.36 with Mount Zion Jonesboro getting crunk up beginning their finals run taking 2nd in 41.69

Jonathan E. Jones from Arabia Mountain came from behind catching Cedar Shoals' Breshawrd Cooper for the win in 48.11. Cooper was .02 back for the Silver in 48.13. Andrew Nsuk (far left) of Mount Zion took 3rd at 48.77

Grovetown's Darius Watkins wins his 1st of 2 Golds in the Short sprints clocking a 10.49 edging Lakeside-DeKalb's William Johnson a neck back at 10.50

New Machester's Terrence Jenkins doubled in the Hurdles in the 5A division. Here, he's taking the win first in the 110 Hurdles posting a 14.44 besting Mt. Zion's Jonathan Ross a  stride back at 14.51

Possibly overlooked in the 5A preview, Taylor Huntley from McIntosh HS successfully defended his 2013 800 meter title running his race, overtaking the leaders the last 100 meters going 1:55.16  besting Corey Jones from Richmond Hill in 1:56.05

Grovetown's Darius Watkins completed his 5A sprint double winning the 200 meter dash swiftly in  21.27 with Marquett Simmons of Mt. Zion taking 2nd at 21.50

 

Terrence Jenkins(lane 4) of New Manchester completed his Hurdles double winning the 300 intermediates in 38.75 edging Stephenson's Denzel Harper (lane 5)  at 38.80. 

Mount Zion actually won their only finals Gold in the last 5A event of the meet posting the winning time of 3:16.82 as Riverwood International grabbed the Silver at 3:18.16
