Navarro of Marist Pulls Away Taking 4A 3200m Title

Navarro led the 1st lap at 1:08 with Hakeem Mustafaa in tow and the entire field in a 2 lane wide convoy after lap 1. By the 3rd lap it was a 4 man race with Navarro leading, Shaw, Michael Thurston in 3rd and Bowie of Lagrange 4th . Navarro began to separate in lap 5 building a lead of 25 m coming into the 7th lap. He continued to extend his  lead thru the lap, but Thurston and Mustafaa were having a personal duel the final 600m that was epic for 2nd place closing the gap considerably on Navarro who cruised in at 9:23. Hakeem's speed was the difference the final 40 meters taking 2nd in 9:26 with Thurston a couple strides back at 9:27. Bowie took 4th in 9:35.
