Super Frosh Candace Hill from Rockdale County HS set the already hot mondo on fire in both the short sprints putting the nation on notice that she's the real thing Saturday afternoon at the GHSA Girls State Championships. First with a 11.44 in the 100 meters and then going 23.21 in the 200 meters. The mood was set as the majority of the crowd was aware something big could happen as they began to stand after the gun fired. As she approached the finish line fans stood in unison and oohed/aahed, then erupted as large scoreboard by the finish line displayed her times within a couple seconds or less...Candace has a unique acceleration pattern and when she begins to lift has top speed that's rare for a freshman girl..that's correct, just a freshman. Her 200 meter race was where she really displayed her footspeed, feet barely touching the mondo almost flying as I could not hear her spikes contact the surface ( a few feet away)  Congrats to Candace Hill, and hopefully, we'll get to see her 3 more seasons blaze even sicker times!
