Harper Sigler of NOHS leads the chase pack in Heat 2 of the Boys 800m

Boys

ELHS held off a young Cedar Shoals squad by 10 points taking the team title hardware back to McDonough. The new facilties have attracted some more talent into the Track program. No National Elite standards were met, but many athletes flirted with with it..North's Harper Sigler looked to be getting into a rythym taking the 800m unchallenged in 2:01. Tyler Jones of NOHS held off newbee to Track Devin Dixon from Eagle's Landing (4:41) in the 1600m for the win in 4:37, Dixon has never ran Track before stepping off the Basketball court this season and at 6' 3" runs with a relaxed natural gate that many will be jealous of..in only his 4th race (he pr'd at 4:37 last week) This guy has huge upside being only a sophomore..Prince Avenue has a real star in the making with Kevon Gibson as he  doubled in the Sprints at 11.08 and 22.27 and on the Long Jump impressively with a mark of 22-4.75..Eastside's Daniel Oduah cleared 6-07 in winning the HJ and placed 2nd in the TJ. Torace Sturgeon from Hart County doubled in the Throws at 48-08/141-04.
