Meet Records Shattered at the Parkview Invitational

The big stars of the day ranged from the 100m dash thru the distance events. Again, 24 girls bested the existing meet records in the Track events, 11 in the Field Events and 3 relay squads. On the boys side 18 athletes bettered old meet records in Individual Track events, 4 in the Field and 5 in the 4 x 100m relay. Parkview won the Girls team competition scoring 100 points with Chamblee 2nd at 75 and Woodward 3rd at 69.50. Rockdale County made a statement winning the Boys team trophy with 83 points, host Parkview was 2nd with 67 and Woodward snagged another 3rd place overall with 59 points.

Their is definitely a rising star on the horizon in freshman Candace Hill of Rockdale County. Hill is no stranger to competition as she's the reigning champ in the Youth Age Group from the  USATF National JO Outdoor Track and Field Championships this past Summer. Hill shocked a few upperclassmen winning the 100m today at Parkview in 11.98 (pr of 11.81) and placed 2nd in the 200m in 24.88 Candace is a 'Magnet' student and previously attended Davis MS and competed in Club Track for Dynamic Speed.
