Three Jags Named All Region
Jaiden Brandt, Dustin Ross, Preston Jones earn award from USTFCCCA
AUGUSTA, Ga. – GRU Augusta Men’s Cross Country seniors Jaiden Brandt and Dustin Ross and sophomore Preston Jones were named All-Region by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) following the NCAA regional championship meet on Nov. 9.
More than 390 Division II student-athletes were recognized Monday as All-Region honorees by the USTFCCCA. Those runners of USTFCCCA member schools who finished top-25 individually at one of the eight regional sites across the country earned the honor, 395 in total.
Brandt, the Peach Belt Conference Runner of the Year, led the Jaguars to a third-place team finish at the NCAA Southeast Regionals – his fifth team-leading finish of the year. Brandt finished in the top five of every race this season, including five top-three and four second-place overall finishes. Ross won the Jaguar Invitational, GRU Augusta’s home meet on Sept. 20 and had three top-three finishes on the season. Ross’ worst finish of the year was 20 h at the Charlotte Invitational. Sophomore Preston Jones blazed the regional course to take 17th overall and third for the Jags.

The NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships will be held November 23 in Spokane, Wash., hosted by the GNAC at the Plants Ferry Athletic Complex. The meet will be broadcast live online at NCAA.com.
