5A Girls
The ladies’ side has turned into a three team battle for the title with regionals behind us. Northview has opened up a slight gap on #2 Dunwoody and #3 Lakeside-Dekalb (the latter two were only separated by a point at region!), but it is far from over. With that said, Northview has clearly established themselves as the top team when they’re on and have consistently been featured in the all-class rankings the second half of this season. McIntosh spanked Starrs Mill at 4-AAAAA. Lakeside-Evans crushed it in 2-AAAAA. Pope bested Creekview in 7-AAAAA. North Paulding nipped Woodland at 5-AAAAA.

5A Boys
As the region meets have come and gone, the quest for the podium approaches its end. A once dominant Flowery Branch has watched its gap close as hungry teams like Clarkston, Northview, Greenbrier, Lakeside-Evans, and Sequoyah look to play spoiler. The Branch began to look like themselves again smoking it at 8-AAAAA. Clarkston rolled over Lakeside DK in region 5. Northview bested Sequoyah in region 7. Greenbrier and Lakeside Evans had a war in 2-AAAAA! Both teams at 35 points coming down to a tiebreaker with Greenbrier's 6th man :11 and 1 position in front of Lakeside Evans...it can't get any closer XC fans!
