Marist's Girls Perfect Score Region 6-AAAA and Marist Boys Take Care of Business
Running without the services of their top 4, the War Eagles 'perfect scored' their region counterparts proving how deep they really are. The boys cruised around the the tough 'Double Dip' course scoring 22 points with a 53 point margin of victory.
Boys
Michael Thurston took the day off as Daniel Navarro took over the reins winning the overall race in 17:12. Jim Galvin placed 2nd in 17:36, Frank Pittman was 4th in 17:58. Breaking up the War Eagle express and qualifying as Individuals for state were Redan's Cedric Roberts in 3rd at 17:48 and teamate Keith Terry in 5th. Grady, Chamblee and Stone Mountain will move on to state.
Girls
All 7 Marist girls competing consumed the top 7 spots ultra perfect scoring their opponents. Ilse, Kendall Nelson, Catie Faust and Anna Renou spent their afternoon cheering on their teamates. Courtney Marburger won her 1st overall region title in 20:47. Myriam Shehata was 2nd in 21:01 and Ashley Brunner 3rd a step back in 21:02. 6-AAAA teams Grady, Chamblee and Redan Q'd for the big dance.
