Former South Oldham Runner Hannah Ellis Named SAA Runner of the Week

The SAA released the cross country Runners of the Week for events raced September 30 - October 1 and Ryan James of Berry claimed the men's honor while Hannah Ellis of Centre won the women's award.

Berry senior Ryan James (pictured at right) finished fifth in the Hanover Pre-National meet with a time of 25:50. Ryan had the opportunity to mix it up in the front pack with a couple 2012 DIII All Americans; Michael Leduc of Connecticut College (13th NCAA 2012) and Coby Horowitz of Bowdoin College (6th NCAA 2012). Michael and Coby finished first and second respectively in the Pre-National meet this weekend. 
 
SAA Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week - Hannah Ellis of Centre
 
Centre's Hannah Ellis had a good weekend at the Pre-national meet in Hanover, Ind.  Hannah toured the rainy 6k course in 23:16, her fastest time of the year.  Hannah finished the race in 19th place in a field of more than 200 women and led her team to a 7th place team finish.

Centre's Eric Beyerle had a fine race this weekend at the Pre-national meet in Hanover, Ind.  Eric toured the rainy 8k course in 26:55, his fastest time of the year.  Eric finished in 30th place out of more than 200 men and helped lead the Centre men to a 5th place team finish.
 
Birmingham-Southern sophomore Kelsey Holdbrooks had a solid performance this past weekend in the Drury Inn/Panther XC Invitational.  Kelsey finished in third place of 40 women and first in the non-Division I standings. Holdbrooks finished the challenging 5k course in a time of 20.47.76.  She led the 'Southern women to a first place team finish in the non-D-I standings.
