Day 2 Field Events 4A,5A,6A

Marietta moved into the lead at the conclusion of Day 2 with 31 points In 6A Pole Vault a new all-classes State meet record was achieved by Tift County's Katelyn Utely as she climbed 12-6. This also qualifys her as 1st when the All-Time records on GaMileSplit get updated after a few national prep meets.

Some other monster marks were achieved by Cassidy Callahan of Norcross in the Discus in 145-1. The Blue Devils Jenessa Jackson scored 18 points having a toss of 139-11 on her last throw swiping 2nd. Jackson then scored a mild upset taking Shot Put Gold w/ a pr of 45-11. Stormm Phillips from Valdosta won the LJ easily with a jump of 19-04.25 Malayshia George cleared 5-6 in the HJ winning for Mill Creek.

5A had their day in the Field with points being spread out evenly among many teams but Kell's Kendell Williams was the star again winning the HJ at 5-08 and 20-09.75!  That's 20 big points for the Horns' in their quest for a team title. Tiffany Flynn of Miller Grove jumped 40-07.50 to win theTJ and  18-11.25 taking 2nd in the LJ. 3 ladies cleared 11-6 in the Vault and winning on a JD was Elise Moffatt of Allatoona, with Anna Dunn 2nd and Holly Ebbets 3rd. Noelle Parker of Whitewater HS won the Shot w/ a put of 41-09 on her 2nd throw and Ja'Keeyla Hayes from NS Columbus had a mark of 126-6 winning the Discus.


Anasterasia Terrell of Howard (Macon) doubled in the Horizontal jumps with marks of 39-05.00 in the TJ and by 1" took the 4A LJ crown in 18-10 over Adriunna Brown of Rutland placing 2nd.  The hometown folks got fired up during the Discus competition as friendly rivals Ashley Harrell of Monroe Abany and Westover's Ayanna Mitchell (not to forget defending Champ Courtney Bennett from Liberty County had a terrific battle...Bennett took an early lead on her 1st throw round at 130-10. But, on her final attempt, Monroe's Harrell unleashed a toss of 132-4 seizing Discus Gold.  Nyla Woods of Grady also was 'miss Clutch', on ther final attempt going 41-02 over Cass' Janae Callahan  at 41-0.50  In the Verticals Marist scored 10 points as Bailey Weiland staed consistent all season clearing 5-6 for the victory.  Ashton Matson only needed to clear 10-0 winning the PV.
