About Our Team
2010 - MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY
The Eagles are coached by Dr. Dale Garside and newcomer, Jeremiah McDuffie. The Toccoa Falls College men's cross-country team continues to improve each year and is enjoying one of its best seasons ever. A solid core of veteran runners, Ben Pigott, Jeremiah McDuffie, and Ian Craven, returned. They were joined by newcomers Jordan Lang (freshman), Adam Bowdan (junior), Tyler Jennette (freshman), Joshua Spangler (junior), and Mario Twyman (freshman). The team won first place at Johnson Bible College and the Kentucky Christian Invitational. They captured third place at the Oglethope Invitational. A sophomore runner, Brandon Lang, has also enrolled at TFC and has run unattached in a number of our races this season, winning four of them outright. The team has a lot of depth now, and with no one graduated, next year looks bright indeed. 2010 - WOMEN'S CROSS-COUNTRY The Lady Eagles are coached by Dr. Dale Garside and newcomer, Sarah Poser. Kathleen Ogden married over the summer and is now Kathleen Lipson. She is the team's leader along with Stephanie Moore, now in her fourth year of cross-country at TFC. These women are joined by Alisha Carlson, Christi Wells, Taylor Clegg, and Laurie Smith. Alisha is an experienced runner from High School and is our number one runner. Kathleen is number two, followed by Christi, Stephanie, Taylor, and Laurie. Although this year has been lackluster, the team shows great promise for next year. Stephanie Moore is the only one graduating. 2009 - MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY The Eagles were again coached by cross-country coaches, Dr. Dale Garside and Dr. Kieran Clements. The Eagles had a solid season with one returning veteran, Elliott Strouse (senior), four solid freshman runners -- Drew Cheney, Jeremiah McDuffie, Ben Pigott, Ian Craven -- and another senior, Jason Hotalen. The placed first at the Johnson Bible Invitational. They were disqualified at Nationals because the team only had four runners. Drew Cheney was injured and Jason Hotalen was called to a Marine assignment for that weekend. 2009 - WOMEN'S CROSS-COUNTRY The Eagles were again coached by cross-country coaches, Dr. Dale Garside and Dr. Kieran Clements. The Lady Eagles lost a number of their veteran runners from the previous year. The number 1 runner, Anna Slifka, graduated, as did Layla Ledbetter. Kathleen Ogden had to drop out due to Mononucleosis just a week after practice began. Veterans Anna Hunter, Stephanie Moore paced the young team with freshmen Sarah Sharpe, Stephenie Abbott, and Christine Barrington. The women placed third of three teams at the Cedarville championship race with just five women participating. 2008 - MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY The Eagles were coached by first year cross country coaches Dr. Dale Garside and Dr. Kieran Clements. Coach Garside came in with an extensive running background and a love for running and teaching students. The Eagles maintained their winning tradition with the combination of experienced newcomers and knowable veterans this season. The team returned Blake Arnold, and Elliot Strouse. They also added Zach Bethea, Dennis Colunga, Chris Leamons, Don Schaeffer, Vincent Schill, and Evan Strouse. They finished 3rd of six teams at the NCCAA-Division 2 championships at Cedarville. 2008 - WOMEN'S CROSS-COUNTRY The Lady Eagles were coached by first year cross country coaches Dr. Dale Garside and Dr. Kieran Clements. The Toccoa Falls Mens cross country team has established itself as a competitive athletic program. The Eagles won their Paul Alford Invitational team title, and finished 2nd in the Great South Athletic Pre-Conference Championship and 3rd in the Kentucky Invitational. They placed 15th in the Georgia State Championship defeating numerous scholarship teams. The Eagles were able to place fourth in the Oglethorpe Invitational and seventh in the Erskine Invitational.
