The Viking and Lady Viking XC squads started the season at the Luella Twilight on Saturday, August 28, on a hot, rainy night in Georgia. The Lady Vikings claimed a 5th place team finish in a field of 14 teams. Freshman Hailey Gollnick grabbed the 23rd spot.
The Vikings XC squad posted its best finish in school history, earning fifth place honors in the AAAA class. Bret Eady finished the season the way he started - out front. His time of 16:57 was good for tenth place overall. Sophomores Gabe Pulsipher and Trent Golay were under the magic 18 minute mark.
On a rainy day in Georgia, Senior Bret Eady led the Vikings to their fifth straight ticket to the Big Show, the GHSA XC Championships. The water-logged circuit did not squelch the Viking harriers, who averaged 17:18 per man, a blistering pace.
