The Lady Patriots finished first in The Friday Night Lights Track Invitational @ Starr's Mills High School on Friday March 23rd 2012. The were crown champions out of 15 teams competing in several classification throughout the Greater Atlanta Area. The boys also finished 5th place among some of the best runners in the state of Georgia.

The Northside Track & field team celebrated in glorious fashion last night at the End Of the Year Awards Banquet held at Wynnbrook Baptist Church.

The Shaw girls and the Northside boys won the team titles Saturday in the Edgar Johnson Relays at Kinnett Stadium.
The Lady Raiders finished with 157 points to 136 for Columbus High.
The Patriots won the boys title with 145 points, 10 more than Columbus.

During the Girl's Georgia High School State Track Meet finals held last weekend in Albany, Ga., Kayla Parsons finished 7th in the 3200m run and she finished 9th in the 1600m run. Jodie Thomas competed in the high jump. She placed 9th overall in class 3A. Both athletes are underclassmen and are expected to make it back to the state meet next year with a host of Lady Patriot runners. Go...Patriots!

The school, its campus and athletic programs just seemed right, said Thomas, who signed to play basketball and run cross country for the Montgomery, Ala., college during a ceremony Monday at Northside. “Everyone was really inviting,” Thomas said. “And the basketball program, they’re building a basketball program. And for cross country, I’m going to a program that is already built and they’re winning.” Thomas played basketball and was a member of the cross country and track and field teams at Northside, where she is the back-to-back Region 2-AAA champion in the high jump and a top-10 finisher at the state track and field meet.
