The LHS Cross Counntry team had an overall 14-3 dual meet record, the Boys Team won the County meet, placed 4th at Region and 24th at state.
The Girls team won the County meet, placed thrid at Region and 16th at State. The Girls team of Sarah Bearden, Rebekah Bowie, Sarah Allred, Emilia Arthur, Kathryn Sellman, Brooke Yarbrough, and Lauren Robinson ran the second fastest team time at any meet in LHS history and the fastest ever time at the state meet breaking the record set by the 2009 Lady Granger Team.

Now that the swim and wrestling seasons are finished up...its time for the Cross Country banquet. It will be at the Troup County Parks and Recreation Center on Sunday, March 11th, at 2:00 PM. Runners are free and if parents will be joining you for the meal it will be $5 per person. Pleae let Coach Lindstrom or Coach Dantzler know if you are coming along with any guests so we can plan on having enough food.

The LaGrange Cross Country was represented very well during the Mr and Miss LHS Pagent. Runners have always presented themselves well and this year was no exception. Marlo Williams was Mr Congeniality and Katherine Sellman Miss Congeniality, always positive student athletes. Marlo was also Mr LHS Runner-up. Megan Hale was Miss LHS Runner up.

The LaGrange Boy's team took 24th overall at state. They average 19:25.40 per runner. Andrew Coggins lead the way with at 17:20.08 placing 24th overall. Marlo Williams was 89th, John Parker 110th, Haro-Oropeza 182nd and Graham Kittrell was 199th. The team was without several runners yet came together for a excellent runs at state.
Sarah Bearden lead the women's team with a 35th place finish in a time of 21:14.62. Rebekah Bowie was 68th, Sarah Allred 77th, Emilia arthur 136th, Katherine Sellman 163rd, Lauren Robinson 173rd and Brooke Yarbrough 164th. The women were 16th overall with an average time of 23:08.92.

The Varsity Boys qualified for the state meet in Carrollton with their fourth place finish. They averaged 19:13.12 per runner lead by Andrew Coggins' sixth place finish. Marlo Williams was 12th, John Parker 17th, Darius Jackson 24th, Adrian Wyatt 28th, Hiram Haro-Oropeza 34th and Jay Yi 37th. LaGrange had 87 points to Central's 81 pts, Carrollton's 76 points and champion Columbus with 40 pits. Finishing behind LaGrange was Shaw, Troup and Haralson.
In the JV race, Graham Kittrell was 33rd and Jacob Butler 57th.
The Lady Grangers were lead by Sarah Bearden's 8th place finish, seniors Rebekah Bowie and Sarah Allred were 11th and 13th respectively. Emilia Arhtur was 22nd, Kathryn Sellman 26th and Brooke Yarbrough was 33rd.
The girl's team finished third with 78 points. Columbus won the meet with Central 2nd with 43 points.

The Region Meet will be held on Wednesday October 26th starting at 5 PM at Kinnett Stadium in Columbus GA (Shaw High School).
The first race will most likely be the Junior Varsity race (combined for male and female), then followed by the Varsity Races. The exact schedule will be posted when confirmed.
The Top seven runners will run in the Varsity race. All others will be in the JV race. The Top 12 runners are eligible to run in the Region Varsity race or the State Meet if the team qualifies.
The bus will depart at 2:45 PM so students will be dismissed from class at 2:30 PM.
Note: You'll need to eat a good breakfast and a nutritious smart choice for lunch. No junk, nothing new, and nothing that will upset your stomach.

The Troup County Cross Country Championships will be held on Wednesday, October 19th at the West Point Dam's Shaefer Park, Eagle View Shelter.
Please let Coach Dantzler or Coach Wilson know if you need transportation to the cross country meet.
Meet Schedule:
5:30 PM High School Boys
5:40 PM High School Girls
COURSE: 3.1 miles. The course will be one loop; two miles of which are in the woods. This is a very technical course that is both challenging and fun.
AWARDS: Medals/ribbons will be awarded in the chute for placing 1-25 in each race. Trophies will be awarded to the top individual and the top team in each race. Medals to the top seven runners.
PARKING: Buses and cars will be parked at Eagle View Shelter. Additonal parking will be available at the park's visitor center.. There is a path between the visitor center and the Eagle View Shelter parking area.

Three times a charm for senior Stephen English as he medaled at the State Championships in Jefferson, GA. Competing in the classification featuring the state's top vaulter, Stephen jumped his personal best with a 12 foot jump to take the 8th place medal for the Grangers.

Congratulations to Dmotan Boyd and Stephen English for qualifying for the State Track Championships. Dmotan in the 200 meter sprint events and Stephen in the Pole Vault.
On the women's side, Kabreanna Smith and chandler Ferguson won their events, Kabreanna the shot put and Chandler the pole vault.
