A strong top 4 squads will lead AAA this Fall including East Jackson, Westminster, Pace and North Hall. Can anyone hang with the Kennedy twins this Fall in AAA?
It was fine morning of racing at the well designed Lamar Murphy Park course as 8-AAA teams decided who was the best and what schools would be moving on to State.
Like the Boys, a fairly dead week for the Girls. No movement amongst the top 10. It will be interesting how many AAA schools go to Last Chance for a preview. There will be some broken hearts at the 8-AAA meet on 10-27.
It wasn't a busy week of racing in Boys 3A and there was no movement amongst the top 10. the most significant performance was by Oconee County as the Warriors gave the All-Class ranked North Oconee squad all they could handle at the Clarke Oconee Championships Tuesday. No Warrior squad has raced this well since the 2004/2005 teams. Definitely closed the gap some on Westminster & Blessed Trinity and may have put some distance between an ever improving East Jackson squad.
Westminster retained their top ranking running well @ Asics. Blessed trinity ran a mixed squad, Hart County remains a solid 3rd after Asics. Oconee County moves up after 22:44 team average @ Asics. Jefferson is back in the top 10 this week.
There wasn’t much movement in AAA, several girls teams solidified their positions.

It was a muddy weekend of racing as several large invitationals across the state had AAA schools on their buses. Blessed Trinity’s boys continue to hold onto a narrow lead.We will see a AAA and AAAA showdown this Thursday at Mountain Invite where several ranked teams will go at it.
It was a muddy weekend of racing as several large invitationals across the state had AAA schools on their buses. Westminster’s girls did enough to take over the #1 spot in our rankings this week. We will see a AAA and AAAA showdown this Thursday at Mountain Invite where several ranked teams will go at it.
Here's a large Aubrae Gunderson photo gallery from the eye of David Heaberlin as teams slogged it on the 'F' course in a downpour.
This was a quiet week at the top of AAA, but Blessed Trinity did run the Fulton County Championships and several AAA squads faced off at the West Hall Invite early in the week. Banks County's boys and girls have now cracked the top 10 for the first time and there was some movement in spots 6-10 for boys and girls. Watch List squads from each week are all ranked 11th from this point on.
We saw Westminster's Girls for the first time at Carrollton this week and they look poised for a title run as well. Blessed Trinity and Westminster will again be watching one another all season (especially Girls) and attempt to peak at the right time to take a state title. Big movers of the week are Morgan's girls moving up to 5th. Experienced XC stat guys and girls here in the state understand the difficulty of courses like Carrollton and Double Dip, so rankings are definitely taking course ratings into consideration.

AAA girls is a similar story with Blessed Trinity and Westminster giving serious quality at the top. Hart County has made giant leaps these past couple of seasons and lands at a comfortable #3 in AAA for now. Dawson could be our 4th podium team with several challengers coming up from spots 5-10. Blessed Trinity's Mary Claire Solomon have a target on her back as favorite for the Individual state title 2 months from now.
AAA boys open up the season with serious quality at the top. Blessed Trinity takes the #1 spot after beating Oconee head to head at Berry on Saturday. Oconee has made a big jump, in there very close with Westminster and East Jackson. The podium looks full with those 4 teams, but it's a long season. Individually, East Jackson's Chase Kennedy will have a target on his back as favorite for state title 2 months from now.
AAA Girls is very similar to Boys as Westminster and Blessed Trinity's deep and traditionally strong Girls programs are just on another level than everyone else. Westminster returns everyone and Blessed Trinity their top 6. It will be fun to see if they run heads up before Region as its seems they avoid each other during the regular season. Hart County is a strong 3rd but it would take cloning Audrey Honiotes x 2 to come even close to the Cats and Titans. There seems to be large gaps between other top 10 schools aside from Savannah Arts and Coahulla Creek at 4/5. 8-AAA's Dawson County, Morgan County, Fannin County and East Jackson will fight at Region for State spots. Decatur is a top 10 team early. Pierce County placed 15th at State and's a bit of a mystery due to the courses they compete on during the season. Oconee County graduated their core and after making the Podium in 2014 and will need to rebuild.
Westminster's boys ran well at Atlanta Classic besting rival Blessed Trinity moving into 2nd. East Jackson loos stronger than ever maybe having found their 5th...Jackson County beat Hart head on at Soaring Eagle moving into the top 10 this week. Westminster and Blessed Trinity's Girls programs successfully avoided racing against each other again last week...Oconee's girls showed some life at Aubrae Gunderson moving up after winning the 'Blue' race. Morgan and Banks cracked the top 10 this week.
