Run 3 or 4 days a week 3 miles a day but mix it up. One day just run 3 miles. The next day run the whole 3 miles but every other 400 pick up the pace for 400 meters and then slow back down. One day do 100m ins and outs but do the sprints on the 100m curves instead of the straights. You can also do one day where you run stadiums and make a run around the track part of it do 3 laps with the stadiums. Just think of ways to mix the runs up and make it concentrate more on speed work on 1 day and endurance runs another day.
