The MLKDay5K Drum run allows schools to create teams and earn money for Track & XC boosters. The MLKDay5K Drum Run pays thousands of dollars to these booster clubs every year. The students love the race and the coaches appreciate the support! Please list us on Milesplit.
Thank you for your help with the MLK Day 5K
Saturday before MLK Day, January 16th, 2016! Gathering the diverse groups in our beloved community to celebrate Martin Luther King Day in the spirit of sisterhood and brotherhood with fellowship and fitness.
This 5K walk/run will take place entirely in Piedmont Park (START & FINISH near Park Tavern.) The USATF certified race course and Peachtree Road Race qualifier will be run on grass, road, gravel, wooden bridge and dirt paths through the Park. We will have a 3.1 mile DRUMLINE all along the race course. This 5K will have a vibe like no race ever run. This is the perfect fitness test for pre-season track athletes.
This is a unique event that allows Teams to receive proceeds from MLKDAY5K. Earn YOUR Track Booster Club Money by creating a team and inviting your school, friends and family to join. Each runner earns YOUR Team $5. 100 Team Participants = $500.

Timing and Sanctioning: The race will be professionally chip timed by Zulu Racing. The race will NOT be NFHS and GHSA sanctioned.

$ 25/ Runner before 2016
$ 30/ runner after New Year

Create a TEAM: As this is an unsanctioned event, Please create a unique Team Name. The purpose of the race is special: to foster fellowship and fitness in celebration of the Beloved Community that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. envisioned. In support of that, we are working with schools, churches, community organizations and businesses to use the race as a fundraiser for their community-oriented initiatives. Five dollars of each registration from an approved organization will be returned to that organization for use in community efforts of its choice. In other words, if 100 people register for the DRUM RUN with YOUR TEAM NAME, the MLK Day 5K DRUM RUN will donate a check for $500 to YOUR Team, booster club OR The Charity of Your Choice.
