Race entry includes entries into the Varsity, Junior Varsity, and the open race.
RACE TIMES
7:30 a.m. Coaches Meeting/Packet Pickup
7:45 a.m. Varsity Boys (7)
8:20 a.m. Varsity Girls (7)
8:55 a.m. JV Race Boys (10) capable of running under 30 minutes for a 5k
9:30 a.m. JV Race Girls (10) capable of running under 30 minutes for a 5k
10:10 a.m. OPEN
*Team Trophies will awarded after JV Girls*
RACES
Varsity and JV races will be scored and timed. Please do not enter any athletes in a Varsity/Junior Varsity race if they are unable to complete the 5k race in less than 30 minutes; enter them in the JV Unlimited Open Run. We hope to keep a tight schedule this year on our very well marked course.
REGISTRATION
We will be using online registration forms again this year. We will be using the ga.milesplit.us online entry forms. Directions can be found here for general registration: http://www.milesplit.us/pages/Online_Meet_Reg_Instructions. Instructions specific as to our meet directions will be given out closer to the meet day. We ask that you only register those athletes who will potentially run in the varsity or JV scored races. You do not need to enter any athlete that will be running the in the non-scoring JV unlimited race. All you need to do is enter 7-17 total athletes per gender (7 will run varsity and 10 will run JV) and you can choose on race day who runs in what race. You do not need to declare ahead of time. Please do not register your entire team, only register those who will race in the varsity/JV scored races.
NUMBERS/TIMING
Race numbers will be distributed to all registered athletes and will be used for official scoring and timing in both the Varsity and Junior Varsity races. Please follow the instructions found in your meet day packet regarding the numbers or see the information above in the registration section.
Timing will be done through Milesplit and results posted online within 1 week of the event. In the event that a child runs under another name please inform Coach McNichols via email (mr.mcnichols@gmail.com) after the race to make the adjustments to our meet results. The JV Unlimited race will not be timed by our race officials, if you wish to time your athletes each coach will be responsible for his/her athletes. We will have a running clock near the finish for the athletes.
TEAM AWARDS
Team awards will be given out on the field immediately following the JV Unlimited Races. Awards will be given to the team winner and runner-up in the Varsity race, and the top two teams in the JV race. There are no awards in the open race.
INDIVIDUAL AWARDS
This years fall classic will feature individual medals for the top 15 in each Varsity and Junior Varsity race. Each medal will be handed out at the finish line.
