'South of the Border" Individuals Dominate Individual Races, North Gwinnett Gals and Smiths Station Boys Win Team Titles  It was an unusually hot morning down in Albany as temps hit the 80's before the MS races. It showed only 1 JV Boy barely slid under sub 18:  It was yet another great meet put on by Westover AD, Coach Harley Calhoun and his army of volunteers. Winning the Individual titles were Abby Booth from Perry HS in 18:35 and Shaw's Hakeem Mustafaa got some redemption this year winning the Boys overall title in 15:37 going out early and was never challenged. Oh, and another note, a coach wheeled the course at very close to 5000 meters..

Its time to make the Fall trek 'Way Down South' to Albany again for the infamous Westover Invitational at the blazing fast Robert Cross Middle School course. The Westover Cross Country Invitational is entering its 32nd Year.  The inaugural meet was organized by Coach Ron Clanton and held in 1982 on the campus of Darton State College.  He would be meet director for 20 years until his departure from Westover. With expansion at Darton State College in 2002, the meet was officially moved to Robert Cross Middle School that had just been finished.  The course was built on the campus and the adjoining pecan orchard next to the school.  Now teams make the trip to Albany to run in the picturesque setting of the orchard as the sun rises in the morning hours
