The SMART Memorial Day Challenge meet at Westlake HS produced some pretty good marks in the Pole Vault to start off the summer season.
Middle School Girls Becky Arbiv (PV-ATL) and Kayley Riley (GA PV) both cleared 9-2. That makes them #2 all-time MS for GA (...although Becky cleared 9-3 at Emory on Tuesday night...).
In HS Girls competition Morgan LaMarca (PV-ATL) got a 10-2 school record and PR. Laura Sewell (GA PV) got a big PR of 10-8. This makes her #2 all-time 1A, GA.
Jumping with the boys was unattached athlete Kat Majester. She cleared 14-2 (4.32) to give her the "B" Standard Olympic Trials qualifier. Nice jumping! Jumping along with Kat was Taylor Woods (GA PV) getting a new PR at 14-7 to win the boys meet.
The next BIG PV meet... All Pole Vault-All the Time Invitational at Emory, June 9. All these jumpers are entered. There should be some more fire-works coming up in two week! Look for the meet preview soon.
