Bruce, Megan Asadian ran a 19:11 at the Warner Robins Invite (a Course Record) and a PR. Nick Wilcox dominated again. Yet you still have a girl that finished with a 20 above Megan for 5A?
Seriously, in the last article you called Huntington MS a fast course. Have you ever seen the 2010-2011 county championship times? The 2010 Region 1AAAAA times? The WR Invite 2010-2011 times?
What kind of biased show are you running here? Megan and Nick have won every race they have run so far. For you to leave out such deserving athletes is completely unethical.

If you read closely, it says "Please keep in mind, we are trying to recognize a few different athletes every week". This means that they will pick an athlete who had a good week, but try to avoid picking the same one every week. Only 1 can be picked per week, so be patient, there are lots of deserving athletes out there. That being said, it is important to be objective and totally factual when trying to promote an athlete. You said that Nick has won every race he has run so far, but according to the Berry Invitational results he was 12th in 16:54. He is running very well, and certainly deserves to be recognized as an athlete of the week, but misrepresenting his performances will not help his case. Calling out the webmaster is also not productive, it would have been smarter to just remind him of these to fine athletes, their times and places and ask that they be considered. He may not have been aware of them. I hope to see them both get recognized, we need to see and know about athletes that run in other parts of Georgia, especially when they are running so well.
Isn't Bruce a volunteer? Putting in a ton of his time to run this place - and doing a fine job? Let's be a little more reserved in our criticism & a little more appreciative of those that put in thankless hours for the sport & truly look out for the student-athletes like Bruce does..
Bruce does a tremendous job with this site!!!

@COACHBILLY I approve this message!
Thanks Bruce for the many hours you put in to give our runners (and coaches and parents) a terrific and friendly running website and resource! We appreciate all that you do (please don't quit).
If you are not happy with the runners of the week picks, start a poll on this board after this saturday's meets and let everyone vote.
There is a committee of coaches who nominate these every week. And yes the idea is to "spread the wealth". Many other factors besides times are considered, especially when you take into account the difficulty of some courses (this past weekend Double Dip for example).
This site is fantastic; a great resource for the kids, parents and coaches. The folks that run the site do a great job.
The depth of coverage is good, especially for the younger kids. It is great that some runners are being recognized weekly for their accomplishments and it is great that different runners are being recognized each week. No offense to the best runners in the state, but it wouldn't be much fun to see the same names on this list week after week. I, for one, look forward to seeing the weekly recaps and this list each week. Keep up the good work. We appreciate the all the hard work that is being done here.

stefanrucki When I recognize my athletes each week, it is not always the ones that finish 1st but the ones that have made a significant improvement each week. Bruce is doing a great job.
We have a committee of coaches who decide the runners of the week for each classification. They submit their decisions and the webmaster publishes them. The thinking is to recognize as many runners as we can, not just the same runners over and over. We may recognize runners a second time next month if they have more outstanding performances, but the thought is we want to showcase as many talented runners as we can. We do the same thing each week with our Gwinnett County Runners of the Week: they can only be recognized once.
I'm sure if the coaches accidentally miss a worthy candidate, if someone could politely make a post about it, it can be corrected. Thanks.

Tell your athletes to keep running well. It's a long season and plenty of weeks to be recognized as ROW. At least they are eligible for such recognition. One of the athletes I work with isn't eligible because her middle school doesn't have a cross country program. So, maybe in a couple of years...
Thank you for selecting Audrey Honiotes as you Middle School Runner of the Week. She is a self motivated runner, that works very hard. More importantly, she is a wonderful kid.

@piedmontjim I was very impressed with Audrey Saturday. She gave Mckenzie Ellison a great race. Both have tremendous futures!
#1: she hasnt been chosen as a ROTW so far. So she qualifies as a 'different name'.
#2: "ones that have made a significant improvement each week" made a PR by almost 30 seconds, and set a course record.
and thanks for the comment @

I try to give all of my athletes an opportunity to excel and be recongnized. So when 1 makes a significant jump, i make sure to share with their teachers and other coaches, so they can beam their smiles walking down the halls. I apologize if I dont completely understand selection methods for the runner of the week honor. But as I have seen many times, athletes from south of Macon are hardly even looked at.
