Time For a Cross Country Season Like None Before...and a Changing of The Guard ??

For the first time in the history of the GHSA there will be 6 classifications, including a 'Super Class' being 6A and a 'Split' Class 1A broken down into separate Private and Public school divisions who will contest their own State Championships. The GHSA decided also to contest the 1A State Meet a week earlier at a different venue (down in Macon at the Georgia Industrial Children's Home property) Although this is not a bad venue for a race, many coaches are not happy with this decision as its going to take away from competing on the 'Big Stage' in Carrollton with 5 other Classes. Not to mention the Tradition of the State Meet at Carrollton with  thousands of runners and fans cheering on their teams lining the course...and that final downhill surge to the Finish line in a last ditch chance to pass other runners and help your team's chances. .

This season we are going to have a weekly Report on Monday evenings on all the major meets and any Meet Director/Head Coach is welcome to write a "meet Preview and/or meet Recap" to be published on the homepage. You are encouraged to upload images and create galleries of your event on the meet pages to bring more attention to your race! Parent boosters and often school photography club members can be an excellent source for this. Weekly Rankings will be released on Tuesdays and sent to all the media outlets that we have links/addresses for publishing locally. Also, we will attempt to Rank GISA and its going to very dependant upon GISA schools to submit results to ga.milesplit.com in the accepted formats.

Take note that once again many meets are using MileSplit Online Entry for Cross Country and new coaches will need to familiarize theirselves with the Registration process and may want to consider utilizing this affordable tool for meets you host.  http://ga.milesplit.com/pages/Online_Registration  RaceTab Meet Manager (developed by MileSplit) is a tool that can be downloaded (free) to compile results in the proper format for smaller weekday meets as well. http://racetab.milesplit.com/
