Parkview boys and Grayson Girls win Championship races at Coach Wood

Cool weather in the morning allowed for some top flight competition at the 2nd Annual Coach Wood Invitational. Parkview\'s boys earned a commanding win over 2nd place Mill Creek HS and 3rd place Oconee Co. as Michael Winston and Patrick Ollinger took 1st and 2nd to lead the Panthers to victory. The top 10 were as follows:

Among the small schools, Wesleyan was especially impressive, putting 3 in the top 20 to help the team to a 4th place finish ahead of Dacula. Winston looked very relaxed in earning the win.


On the girls side, Abby Self took the win over Harriott Kelly of Lovett in a time of 19:25 to lead the Grayson girls to a comfortable win over Auburn HS of Alabama., 57 to 90. North Gwinnett\'s girls looked impressive once again, finishing ahead of county rival Parkview HS 99 to 107. Lovett captured fifth place thanks to 2 in the top 20. Top 10 were as follows:

In the varsity races, Starr\'s Mill\'s girls looked very strong, putting 3 girls under 21 to take home top honors ahead of top 10 ranked in AAAA Heritage and Lakeside-Dekalb. Pope finished fourth just ahead of Northview in fifth.

In the boys varsity race, Austin Enriquez, of Starr\'s Mill, and Matteo Dicecco, North Springs, posted two of the top times of the day going 16:06 and 16:10. Centennial\'s boys team took a narrow win over Brookwood HS 156-167.
