2011 Coaches Invitational Preview

Girls HJ 
Carlin Light, N. Forsyth, has already gone 5’4” this season.  But Olivia Hewitt, Westminster, and Kaylin Dickerson, Chapel Hill both cleared 5’4” and should create quite a competition.

Girls LJ
Indiah Bell, Parkview, has the top jump in the State, 18’ 5” however she will be pushed to the limit with the likes of Kendall Williams, Kell, and her teammate Alexis Jones-Hardy.

Girls PV
There is quite a bit if experience in this event with the 2010 State Champions in AAAAA , Samantha Becker, AAAA  Caroline Evans, Starr’s Mill and AAA Danielle Penk, St. Pius, all present for an awesome night of vaulting.  In the comradier that is often present hopefully these ladies along with elite vaulter Caroline Bond, GACS,  can motivate each other to indredible new heights!!

Girls Discus
Taylor Dupont, Starr’s Mill,  Shelby Ashe, St, Pius, fresh off her National Championship/RECORD  last weekend   in the weight throw and Monica Phillips, Pope, (2010 5th AAAA)  should make it a very interesting completion as the throwers transition from the weighted throws to the discus.

Same crew of throwers from the discus will again challenge each other on Saturday morning. 

Girls TJ
Mia Adams, Eagles Landing (Pr 38-2), Sarah Hutchinson, Pope (2010 4th AAAAA)and India Hammond of Redan  will lead the field in the Triple Jump.

100 hurdles
Track fans, We are truly blessed to have the opportunity to see THE best hurdlers that state of Georgia has ever had in Kendall Williams.  She has already run 13.99 in 2010 after winning State in AAAAA last year in a PR of 13.57.  The rest of the field is also competitive with the likes of  Michaela Greer, Walton,  and newcomer Shanel Burr, North Cobb.

100
The top seed is Brianna Vaughn of Union Grove who has run 11.97.  Charisma Green, Redan, has a PR of 12.05 and conditions could be right at this  meet  for her to break the  11.0 barrier?  She will be challenged by Janica Davis of Smith Station and Maia Booker of West Hall.

4X16
Harrison has run the best 4X16 so far this season however numerous other teams will compete for the title.  Marist (AAAA XC State Champions), Collins Hill (AAAAA XC 4th place)Lakeside Evans (3rd AAAA XC) Westminster( AA State Champions) will make this any exciting race to watch.

SMR and 4X1
Redan should literally run away with it if seed times hold up as they hold one of the fastest 4X1 times of the year.  Other impressive sprint team should include Collins Hill, Smith Station, Walton and Starrs Mill.

4x4
Always an exciting event, Redan again has the fastest time with 3:53 however Smith Station and Collins HIll could also challenge 4:00 and make the race exciting.

 

3200
WOW, What a stacked event for the ladies that will feature 2010 3200 State Champions: Anna Bowles Lakeside Evan(AAAA), Allie Schaich , Lambert (AAA and meet record holder in the 1600) and Sahara Fletcher , Westminster (AA) and Grace Tinkey, First Presbyterian, (A and Footlocker National Finalist)>.  Also entered in this GREAT event are Annie Kelly, Milton, Katie Townsend, Lakeside Evans, Sophia Harkins, Marist, Marcie Merriman, Lassiter, and Erin Osment of St. Pius.  Get your seat early for this race as it may just be one of the best of the season!!!!!!!!!!!

4X8
The fastest seed time has been turned in by Lakeside Evans with the9:38 which would place them on the all time list of greats.  Other strong teams include Collins Hill, Walton, North Gwinnett and Milton.
