6A Girls Titles are Defended by Gates & Cambridge

Cambridge defended their title Friday morning winning easily by 50 points. The lady Bears 2 top runners placed in the top 6 getting them off to a good start. Ashley Sechrest led the way taking 3rd overall in 19:32 and Grace Gerlach finished 6th at 20:04.

Makena Gates
Makena Gates of Creekview defended her Individual title posting the fastest Girls time from Day 1 at 18:48. Alysa Miles had a 4th place effort of 19:56 helping push the Grizzlies to a 3rd place team finish.

McKenna Croft of Douglas County had a great race, finishing a strong 2nd clocking a 19:11.

Riley Perlakowski
Harrison ran very well as a pack, and although the Hoyas had no top 10 finishers, their 1-5 split of 1:06 on the soggy course was the key to their runnerup team finish. Riley Perlakowski led the chase taking 12th overall in 20:38.

Pope held off Alexander by 12 points to claim the final team Podium position. The Hounds' Sophie Boice earned All-State recognition placing 5th overall at 19:56 in a photo finish. Other Individuals making the All-State squad were: Cayden Crismon of River Ridge 7th (20:21), Kayla Gholar of Richmond Hill 8th (20:30), Karsyn Rodney of Dacula 9th (20:31) and Simone Rojas of Evans at 20:33.
