Northeast sophomore Briana Williams made her national television debut at the Adidas Boost Boston Games and she didn't disappoint. Showing why she is ranked US#1 in the 100m, Williams stormed out of the blocks and crossed the line in 11.35s to win the Dream 100 over Kelly Rowe (11.71), Alexis Brown (11.73), and Kennedi Sanders (11.83). Her 11.35 was the fourth fastest of her high school career along behind only her gold medal performance from the state meet (11.31), her 11.27 from the Flow Carifta Games and personal best of 11.13 from the Bob Hayes Invitational in mid March.
In 2016, the games became a street meet smack dab in the city of Boston. Team Florida went 1-2-3 in that race with Amaru Patterson taking the title in 11.59. Symone Mason won in 2017 while Williams made it three years in a row for Team Florida taking home the belt and a new meet record time in the process.
From 2010 to 2015 the meet was held at Icahn Stadium in New York, with the Dream 100 being contested starting 2011. That year the race was won by Octavious Freeman. Shayla Sanders followed in 2012 with Kaylin Whitney winning in 2014.
Up next, is the Great Southwest Classic in New Mexico where she will run both the 100 and 200 meter dash. Williams is ranked US#2 in the 200 behind Tamari Davis and owns a personal best of 23.11s.
"We're going after another big PR," Boldon said. "I have to really push her now then back off because it's Great Southwest then the Jamaican Junior Championships.
