MILESPLIT

The Glenn D. Loucks Games is always a thriller, bringing out some of the best athletes in the Northeast. This year it's no different. As always, the distance events are sure to be loaded. Last year, we got to see 10 guys break 9:00 in the 3200m; this year, we're looking to see the same. One of the marquee events this year will be the girls mile. It will feature Penn Relays mile champion Leya Salis, Katelyn Tuohy, Katherine Lee, Kelsey Chmiel, Grace Connolly, Caroline Timm, and Anna Kostarellis. Ten of the top 12 seed times in the girls mile are sub-5:00.

This meet features some of Florida's next top stars. There's never a disappointing race when this state's athletes show off their speed. One of the fastest young stars is Tamari Davis. Davis holds PRs of 11.55 in the 100m and 23.38 in the 200m--a world record in the 14-year-old age group. She will be searching to
defend her 2016 wins and become a three-time MS 100m champ and two-time 200m middle school champion.

We should see a battle here between some of the best guys in the state of Massachusetts. The 100m and 200m will be contested between three of the state's best in, Milton sophomore Smith Charles, (PR 10.60), Brighton's Ricky Francois (10.66), and Northampton's Nikolas Smith (10.76). On the girls side, we will also get to see some young talent shine in Wellesley freshman Abby Comella, who is the No. 1 seed with a best of 57.94.

This meet will have some of the best in the state of New Jersey. Defending Meet of Champions and Bergen County 800m winner Lexi Del Gizzo of Tenafly looks to take back her crown. Usual team contenders such as Don Bosco, Ridgewood, and Northern Highlands will battle it out for their group titles.
