Atlanta Track Club Names 44 High School Athletes to All-MetroTrack and Field Team

Voting Now Open to Select Most Outstanding Track Athlete, Most Outstanding Field Athlete


ATLANTA - May 17, 2016 - Atlanta Track Club has selected 44 deserving scholastic student athletes, 24 boys and 20 girls, to receive All-Metro High School Track and Field Team honors. The honorees were chosen by Atlanta Track Club, and now coaches, parents, media and the general public will be given the opportunity to vote to determine which athletes are named Most Outstanding Track Athlete and Most Outstanding Field Athlete.

"The 2016 All-Metro High School Track and Field Team showcases the best young talent in Georgia, and we look forward to honoring the athletes' hard work at the banquet," said Rich Kenah, Atlanta Track Club's executive director. "Now it's up to the coaches and the public to choose the night's biggest winners."

 The All-Metro athletes were selected based on criteria including major meet wins, performance at the state meet and a complete season overview. Coaches and the community can go online from May 17 to 24  and vote for their choice for Most Outstanding Track Athlete and Most Outstanding Field Athlete. One boy and one girl will be named for each category for a total of four awards; each recipient will receive a $1,500 scholarship.

 The 2016 All-Metro High School Track and Field Team will be honored at a banquet at The Stave Room in Midtown Atlanta June 1. The student athletes who have been named Most Outstanding Track Athlete and Most Outstanding Field Athlete will be announced at the banquet as well as the recipients of the Coach's Dedication Awards. Nomination forms for the Coach's Dedication Award can be found at atlantatrackclub.org and must be submitted by May 18.
